Hip Hop is a funky street style of dance with loads of energy, attitude and groove. You’ll learn the latest dance moves and combinations as seen on current music videos (such as those by Rihanna, Chris Brown and Beyonce) and dance movies (such as Step Up, Honey and You Got Served). This exciting class will combine moves from hard-hitting hip hop to smooth lyrical styles to help you discover muscles and body isolations you never knew you had!

This is perfect for Beginners who are new to HipHop or even to dance itself. You will not only be taught dance techniques to help you to grow and develop as a dancer, but you will also learn combinations and routines so you get the full dance experience.

A standard 12 week term costs $180, which works out to $15 per class. All students in ongoing courses pay a $30 annual registration fee each year.[/accordion-item][accordion-item title=”I’ve never danced or performed before – will I be able to do this?”]Of course! The beginners class is designed for complete ADULT beginners who have either never done HipHop or even dancing before, or are coming back after an extended break from the style. If you have more experience, consider joining our Intermediate/Advanced course.[/accordion-item][accordion-item title=”Can I trial a class first?”]Your first Lady Velvet Cabaret trial class is $15 so you can try before you enrol. Any subsequent trials (including trials of other styles) will be billed at the $25 Casual rate. If you are looking to attend on a more casual basis, you should consider our Multiple Class Pass.[/accordion-item][accordion-item title=”The term has already started, can I still join?”]Yes! We take enrolments at any time of year (check out our timetable here). Our instructor is completely qualified and will teach you the basics at various paces so you can choose one that suits you. You should be able to move comfortably in your clothing. Sneakers are best for this class. Enrol in two courses with us and you’ll receive 5% off your class fees. Enrol in three courses and you’ll receive 7% off your class fees. Enrol in four courses and you’ll receive 8% off plus your fifth course will be free![/accordion-item][accordion-item title=”What if I want to attend casually?”]If you cannot commit to attending regularly, you should consider our Multiple Class Pass. Once your $20 Annual Registration fee has been paid, you can purchase either a 5 Class Pass for $100 or a 10 Class Pass for $180. Your Class Pass will allow you to enter any of our ongoing courses (not 6 week or one day workshops), provided they are not full.
